Welcome to Play Dog eXcellent (PDX). We have been providing services for the best dogs in the Chattanooga area, including boarding, dog daycare, training, seminars, workshops, and performance events since 2004. Known locally as the old skating rink, our 20,000 square-foot facility is a brick building on top of a hill sitting on more than four acres.
We are proud members of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT), the Red Bank Council of the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, and we are active in the Chattanooga Dog Agility Club. We attend educational seminars as often as possible, and train and compete in dog sports including Rally, Freestyle, Flyball, Obedience, Tracking, Agility, Lure Coursing, and Herding.
MEET THE TEAM
Bev Eitner: Bev is a Managing Partner, in charge of administration and events. Her background is in information technology, specializing in collaboration and workgroup systems. Bev moved from New Jersey to Tennessee in 2002, escaping the comfortable numbness of Corporate America in exchange for the roller-coaster insanity that is small business. She has been working with dogs for only 10 years, but has learned much, and more every day from her Border Collie, Cate, and roadside rescue with the festive ears, QDPi.
Nancy Miller: Nancy is a Managing Partner at PDX, in charge of daycare and training. She has been training dogs for more than 25 years, and has an extensive background in canine nutrition and its effects on health and behavior, proper care and handling of dogs, dealing with aggression, and reading body language. Known as Chattanooga's own Dog Whisperer, Nancy has competed in conformation, obedience, rally, freestyle, and agility with her Boxer, Kruzer. Although she has the undying devotion of the entire PDX pack, she has a special affinity for those "smush-faced" dogs (French Bulldogs, Pugs, and Boxers), and can often be found with one or more at her heels or in her lap.
Angie Jennings: Angie is a Managing Partner in PDX LLC, in charge of the kennel, grooming, and retail operations. Angie has a wealth of experience in many areas, from firefighting to landscaping, but her true passion is in the medical arena. She was the Practice Manager for the Animal Hospital of Whitfield County for 20-something years. She is deeply knowledgeable about the husbandry and medical aspects of pet animal care. Angie is also on the Board of Directors for Prater's Mill Foundation. Angie is competes in herding, rally, obedience, conformation, barn hunt, tracking, and agility with Westies Rudy and Bella, and Australian Cattle Dogs Envy, Wham!, Jeckyl, and Penny.
