Doggie Paddle Pool Party
August 13, 2005: Chattanooga has a new annual event
wherein the city's Olympic-sized public pool goes, well, to the dogs,
for just one day. Proceeds benefit the
Animal Care and Adoption Center,
whose worthy mission is to build a $5.6 million state-of-the-art animal
care, adoption, and education facility. Lots of people came to support
the cause and share a day of boundless canine fun with their best buds.
The Retrievers (mostly of the Labrador and Golden clans) ruled, of
course, but all the dogs were enjoying the sun and the fun, from the
Wolfhounds to the Chihuahuas, and everything in between. We were finally
chased off by a wicked thunderstorm, but not before I caught these
pictures for posterity. Feel free to copy or save, and
let
me know the filename if you want the 2304x1738 version (about 1.5
mb). -- Bev Eitner
