Daycare Photo Journal
November 2008:
Well, November is upon us, and in no time we'll be
writing 2009 on our checks. PDX is coming up on our fourth anniversary,
and so in this month of Thanksgiving, I'm reminded to give thanks for
the many blessings that we enjoy every day; or conversely, for the many
burdens that have been left behind. Thankful that I don't have to attend
27 unproductive meetings a week. Ever so thankful that air travel is no
longer in my job description. Gleeful that it doesn't take three levels
of approval to purchase paper towels and toilet paper. Positively giggly
about not having to sit in commuter traffic every day. Infinitely
relieved that I'm not saddled with some sociopathic misogynist loser of
a boss whose only discernable accomplishment in life was marrying the
CEOs step-niece-twice-removed. But I digress. Gently placing all
negativity aside, I'm truly thankful to the people who bring their dogs
to us: grateful for their encouragement, support, and trust. I'm deeply
grateful for our staff who bring their best to work: thrilled that
they've come to share our passion, vision, and fascination with all
things canine. And, of course, I'm especially thankful to these dogs who
bring us such joy and comfort every day. Each one reflects different
facets of divinity, and we're truly blessed to be part of their lives.
Happy Thanksgiving -- may yours be safe and satisfying! -- Bev
