March 2007: We're all in our places with bright shiny faces.... What a joy it is to see the dogs with big old doggie grins eager to come to "school" and play with all their friends. Lots of folks would love to work with dogs, but consider the professions. Shelters and rescue groups do awesome work with abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs who are often traumatized and fearful or aggressive. Vets have to deal with sick and injured dogs, and have to make heartbreaking life or death decisions every single day. Groomers do get to do interesting things like blueberry facials and experimenting with the wonderful world of colorized canines, but mostly it's about wrestling squirming dogs who really don't want to be getting their nails clipped and anal glands expressed. At PDX, we're in this terrific niche where the dogs are always happy to be here, and they're all from fabulous homes, where they are well-loved and have most everything a good dog could ever want. They're never suffering or hurting, and even when some of the rescue dogs with imperfect pasts are nervous or shy, they come right on out of their shells and blossom along with the best of them. How fun is that?! Speaking of which, please vote on a new tagline for PDX on the mini poll to the right. Or, if you have a better suggestion, let me know! Have a marvelous March, and do stop by and check out Leanne's St. Patrick's Day decor in the Small Wonders Playland! -- Bev

PDX is looking for our official tag line. Which of these do you like?

And the winner is:
COME! STAY! PLAY!

Thank you for voting. This people's choice winner will be proposed at our next Board meeting in April. Hopefully we'll have a new look on the way!
